Children's Board of Hillsborough County

The Children’s Board of Hillsborough County (CBHC) focuses on assisting children and families by promoting services and supports that will achieve outcomes in the areas of healthy births, school readiness and early school success. The CBHC strives to improve service delivery in partnership with local providers, neighborhoods, residents and community-based organizations while building and maintaining the infrastructure necessary to provide children’s services throughout Hillsborough County.

The Children's Board Family Resource Centers are funded by the CBHC.



Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County, Inc.

The Healthy Start Coalition (HSC) is a private, non-profit maternal and child health organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of pregnant women, children and families in Hillsborough County. There are 31 Coalitions in Florida that are responsible for assessing community needs; developing a community-based service delivery plan; ensuring integration of local providers and services; and emphasizing positive patient outcomes.

The Children's Board Family Resource Centers are administered by the HSC.


Champions for Children

Champions for Children is dedicated to helping children and strengthening families in Hillsborough County through prevention, education and treatment programs. Their mission is to prevent abuse before it occurs, stop abuse that is occurring and rebuilding the child and family after abuse.

Champions for Children provides the Child Development domain through their Baby Bungalow Program for the Children's Board Family Resource Centers. They also manage the Centers in East County and North Tampa.


Children's Home Network

The Children's Home is a place where children learn to smile and families learn to flourish! It is not one individual program that makes us successful, but the combination of all services that make our care to children and families complete. Over the course of a year, we will touch the lives of over 15,000 children and adults, by strengthening families through prevention and outreach; finding and supporting  families; and healing the trauma of abuse and neglect. The impact that we make in the lives of the people we serve is only made possible through the generosity of the community...and for that we are grateful!

The Children's Board Family Resource Centers in Brandon, South County and Town 'N Country are managed by The Children's Home, Inc.


St. Joseph's Children's Wellness and Safety Center

The St. Joseph's Children’s Wellness and Safety Center provides health and wellness services to children and families throughout Tampa Bay including: Bike and Pedestrian Safety Clinics; Child Passenger Safety Classes; CPR & First Aid Classes; Mobile Medical Clinic; Safe Sitter Classes; School-based Wellness and Nutritional Programs; Teen Talk Classes; The Safety Store; Water Safety Resources; and more.

St. Joseph's Children’s Wellness and Safety Center provides the Health and Safety domain for the Children's Board Family Resource Centers along with Mobile Services.




REACHUP, Inc.

The mission of REACHUP, Inc. is to advocate for and mobilize resources to help communities achieve equality in healthcare and positive health for families.

The Children's Board Family Resource Centers in Central Tampa is managed by REACHUP, Inc.



Healthy Families Florida & Healthy Families Hillsborough

Healthy Families Hillsborough is part of Healthy Families Florida, a community-based, voluntary home visiting program designed to promote positive parent/child interaction and healthy childhood growth and development, thereby preventing child abuse and neglect. The program is modeled after the highly successful national Healthy Families America Initiative. Healthy Families offers families of newborns living in targeted areas and who are experiencing stressful life situations, home visiting services that are delivered by trained family support workers. The intensity of service is based on the family’s needs.



Suncoast Community Health Centers

Focusing on primary healthcare and general dentistry, Suncoast serves as the medical and dental home of many of the residents and migrant workers and their families living in eastern and southern Hillsborough County. Suncoast currently operates seven clinics and two dental outreach programs, including their state-of -the-art dental coach.

Suncoast Community Health Centers provides Preventative Dental Services at the CBFRCs in East County, Brandon and South County for children ages 6 months through 18 years.



Preserve Vision Florida

Their mission is to promote a lifetime of healthy vision care through advocacy, education, screening and research.

Preserve Vision Florida provides vision screening at all six Centers through the Mobile Medical Clinic.



Tampa Family Health Centers

Their mission is to provide quality, caring, and accessible health care to a culturally diverse community.

Tampa Family Health Centers provides Preventative Dental Services at the CBFRCs in Central Tampa, North Tampa and Town 'N Country to children ages 6 months through 18 years.


ACCESS

Florida Department of Children and Families Automated Community Connection to Economic Self Sufficiency (ACCESS). The ACCESS Florida Program helps to promote strong and economically self-sufficient communities by providing food, cash and medical assistance to individuals and families on the road to economic recovery.

Florida KidCare

Through Florida KidCare, the state of Florida offers health insurance for children from birth through age 18, even if one or both parents are working. It includes four different parts. When you apply for the insurance, Florida KidCare will check which part your child may qualify for based on age and family income.

Early Learning Coalition

The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County is a 501-C3 organization that specializes in the funding and delivery of quality early childhood care and education and after-school programs and services to the children and families of Hillsborough County. We believe all children should have a quality early learning experience that is essential in building a successful future.

Early Steps 

Early Steps is a program to meet the needs of infants and toddlers with special needs and their families.

Provides early childhood information and referral services, prevention and early intervention, and training and advocacy to the community.

Self-Reliance Center
for Independent Living

Assists individuals with disabilities to live as independently as possible; services provided at no cost, including help with housing, job readiness, equipment, transportation, counseling, recreational and social opportunities.
